Intermediate Resources for Administrators & Librarians

Intermediate administrative and technical training resources are focused on customising the search & branding options for your library to increase the ease-of-use and visibility of your organization.  Administrative reports and statistics can also help with collection development, training needs, and identifying other areas for customisation of your eHLbc resources. Available options vary by vendor.

  • General Information - OvidSP Customization Services are only available through contacting OVID directly.
  • Search Options - Select a default search mode including Basic natural language processing, command-line syntax Advanced Searching, or Multi-Field Searches. You can also use custom JumpStart URLs.
  • Group Accounts - OVID provides a limited number of user groups for each organisation.  Most sites are provided with an Admin user group and a non-Admin group only. Contact OVID directly for additional assistance.
  • Limiters / Expanders - Contact OVID to customise the default limits in the Basic & Advanced search tabs in different databases. Each database has different limits available.
  • Exit URLs - Your patrons can be re-directed to a web page of your choice after logout or timeout.
  • Time-Out - Contact Ovid to customise the default length of time before inactive time-out from the database.
  • Database Menu - Contact OVID directly to customize the database menu that is shown from the "Change Databases" option.
  • Troubleshooting - Contact eHLbc  OR Ovid Technical Support for trouble-shooting and assistance.
