Resources for Administrators, Librarians and Information Professionals

Administration of e-HLbc licenced resources as well as Technical Support and Patron Training/Ongoing Support is primarily provided by librarians at member institutions. This web page offers a number of Administrative & Technical training resources for Librarians or System Administrators.

Resources for Administrators

As a member of e-HLbc you must, after initial training, be able to administrate the basics of your vendor administration modules and provide a workable level of technical support and troubleshooting to your patrons. The resources below are recommended to get you started with the different levels of support and training available to administrators. Would you like to suggest additional training resources? Email your suggestions to office@ehlbc.ca!

Types of Administrative & Technical Training Resources:

  • Basic (Mandatory) - Administer the authentication & security of the e-HLbc licensed resources (EG. Update your IP addresses).
  • Intermediate (Recommended) - Customise your resources (EG. Custom search interfaces; Branding; Reports & Statistics).
  • Advanced (Optional) -  Provide patrons with seamless inter-operability of the resources (EG. Linkresolvers; Title Collections; RSS; A-to-Z journal look-ups).
