Licensing Overview

Commitment to achieving equitable and expanded access to online health resources for all health students, researchers, and practitioners in BC and the Yukon is the primary goal of eHLbc's licensing program. eHLbc's centralized approach to licensing resources leverages consortial buying power to achieve steep discounts for members.

Members benefit from eHLbc's strong vendor relationships and expert negotiation skills. Membership in eHLbc results in students, educators, and practitioners having continuity of access to resources from anywhere in the province, as they move from education to professional practice and pursue lifelong learning throughout their careers.

Ultimately, all residents of BC and the Yukon benefit when educators, practitioners, and policymakers have access to the latest evidence-based health research.

eHLbc Model License:

The Model is a framework that eHLbc has developed for negotiating licenses, based on best practices and licensing principles. The Model License is the framework for all consortium licensing and can also be used by members for their own licensing. In cases where vendors require their license, the Model serves as a valuable source of specific language to use in negotiating changes to the vendor license. The updated model license will be used when licensing new resources or when it is necessary to revise an existing license (for example, to cover e-books).
