The 2010 e-HLbc Training Materials Contest Awards are presented to two librarians from the post-secondary and health sectors whose training materials help users get the most out of resources available through e-HLbc.

For the Heath Sector, the award is presented to Brooke Ballantyne-Scott, Fraser Health Authority, for her help sheet, “How to Search CINAHL in EBSCO: Step-by-Step Instructions”.

For the Post-Secondary Sector, the award is presented to Jeremy Buhler, BC Libraries Cooperative, for his series of screen casts, “MEDLINE tutorials (OvidSP): Learn to search MEDLINE for journal articles in Biomedicine”.

Honorable mention: Duncan Dixon, from Trinity Western University, for his screencast series “CINAHL Search Tutorials”, in flash and with accompanying PDFs.

In making their selection, the e-HLbc Training Committee noted Jeremy and Duncan’s innovative approach commitment to the principle of using new technologies to improve learning, teaching and training. The committee was also particularly impressed by Brooke’s thoroughness and attention to detail in presenting CINHAL searching strategies.
