The Canadian Virtual Health Library (CVHL) Task Force announced today that the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) will fund $800,000 towards the establishment of the CVHL. See below for the full announcement.

We extend hearty congratulations to our colleagues across Canada who have worked tirelessly to make this happen.

The Canadian Virtual Health Library is a component of the National Network of Libraries for Health, a project of the Canadian Health Libraries Association. By leveraging existing resources and services through a coordinated network of libraries, the CVHL will ensure that all health professionals, wherever they are in Canada, have ready access to health information of high quality.

CIHR funding will go toward building capacity and infrastructure for the CVHL. Funding does not cover content licensing. e-HLbc services and licenses, including that for EBMR, are not affected by these developments.

e-HLbc continues to be in communication with the CVHL Task Force and will forward information as it is made available. Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact the e-HLbc Administrative Centre.
